2nd Coming of Christ
[Listen to "There is a Day" below]

Hi Guys,
Got some particular understanding of the 2nd coming.
Please let me know your understanding if you see it another way. This
is a little lengthy, but I feel it is important at this time. It may
come as a shock to some of you. But it's a good kind of shock.
We start with a few verses (reading from the modern king james version). Please read the chapters.
John
6:39 And this is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all which
He has given Me I should lose nothing but should raise it up again at
the last day.
John 6:40 And this is the will of Him who sent Me,
that everyone who sees the Son and believes on Him should have
everlasting life. And I will raise him up at the last day.
John 11:24 Martha said to Him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.
John 11:25 Jesus said to her, I am the Resurrection and the Life! He who believes in Me, though he die, yet he shall live.
John
11:26 And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?
John
12:48 He who rejects Me and does not receive My Words has one who
judges him; the Word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in
the last day.
1Th 4:16 For the Lord Himself shall descend
from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the
trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ shall rise first.
1Th 4:17
Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them
in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air. And so we shall ever be
with the Lord.
1Th 5:4 But you, brothers, are not in darkness, that the Day should overtake you like a thief.
1Th 5:10 ...who died for us, so that whether we watch or sleep we should live together with Him.
Rev 20:4 ....And they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
Rev 20:5 But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand
years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
Rev
20:11 And I saw a great white throne, and Him sitting on it, from
whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And a place was not
found for them.
Okay. Let's get started.
I believe in the forceful 'seizing, plucking' of the living saints of God.
Some
have wished to call it the rapture, using Jerome's latin vulgate
translation - 'rapiemur' for the greek word 'harpazo' - which means to
seize, to pluck.
(Look at every occurance : Matt11:12, Matt13:19, John 6:15, John10:28, Acts8:39, Acts23:10, 2Cor12:2, Rev12:5)
I
however believe that this 'seizing' of the living saints IS 'the first
resurrection' that includes the dead in Christ that He brings with Him
at His coming.
From the scriptural evidence, I believe the
'seizing' means a forceful putting away of our physical bodies by the
glorified body that is similar to that which Christ has. The glorified body 'seizes on, plucks
away' our physical body (as if by surprise), so that we are totally
changed. As 1 John3:2 says, 'we shall be like Him when He appears'.
It doesn't imply an unclothing first, but a forceful clothing upon.
We
see Him (so the element of surprise is kind of lost), but that
glorified body seizes us, and that definitely will be a 'shock' to our
system!
'Plucked away' is used because it is out of our control. God controls the timing of the glorification.
I
know some will lament that they believe they will be raptured before
the tribulation to be with the Lord in the air forever. But the
scriptures rather say 'so shall we ever be with the Lord'. That is, we
shall remain in this new state with the Lord, it won't be taken from us! Just as
Jesus remains with a glorified body. Did you notice that Jesus is coming down and we are meeting Him in our atmosphere? There is no returning back to heaven!
Did you read John 11:24-25
above? This IS THE FIRST RESURRECTION!! Those who are dead will live by
getting the glorified body; those who are alive at His coming will not
die, but be glorified. This IS The Blessed Hope!!
John 6:39-40 speaks of the 'last day'.
I
believe this term means the 'last day' before the Great white throne (Rev 20:11).
An entirely new time period comes into force after this 'last day'. I
believe this 'last day' implies the last 1000 year stretch of this current
earth pattern. Satan is then released briefly to deceive, but there won't be
another "usual" 1000-year stretch.
After this last 1000-year stretch
comes the Great white throne judgment, with the general resurrection -
which is the 2nd resurrection. Matt25:32-46 goes into detail about this
2nd or general resurrection. The sheep and the goats scenario.
But
remember that the 2nd resurrection also includes those whose names are
in the book of life - who did not watch for their Master's coming but
became slothful. This is dealt with in more detail in Luke 12:45-48.
They are given their 'portion' with the unbelievers, which is 'not
ruling in the 1000-year reign and having to appear before the great
white throne'.
I do not know the nature of the wounds
received, but I feel Apostle Paul looked into it in 1Cor3:12-15. That
is when a saint's work is tried and found wanting, he shall suffer loss
(the Greek word for 'loss' here is zemioo -injury). Not an injury to her body,
but an injury to her works.
Finally, those who are doing what is
pleasing to Him, won't be surprised when He comes - they will be glad.
But the glorified body will be a pleasant shock! Those who are not
doing what is pleasing to Him, His coming will be hidden -like a thief
in the night- they will be surprised because they will find out they
have missed out on the special prize.
Apostle Peter calls this
seizing, this 1st resurrection 'receiving a Crown of Glory'. 1Pet5:4.
It is a glory that doesn't fade, it won't be taken away from us.
Now doesn't this sound so much better than running away!!
Remember Jesus' words - John17:15. 'I do not pray for You to take them out of the
world, but for You to keep them from the evil.'
Therefore,
go about your duty.
Those who have a hidden ministry of prayer and
shining His Light in the work place, continue. Those who have an open
ministry of teaching and serving the saints, continue.
He will keep us from the evil!!
Stay blessed in Him,
Tony
