A tribute to women by Larry deBaptiste (founder of Christian
I pray that your weekend went well and your Monday is full of the energy that draws people to you, thus causing the beauty of God to be what people see that may be the leading factor that pulls them in for His glory.
As I was going about my day, after getting some rest from a wonderful Sunday, I thought about the beauty of a woman, from the one, who bore God's son, to the one who had me, and all in between, who in some shape, fashion, or form, shaped and molded our society, that will forever be imprinted in our hearts and soul and with a little sadness, I am being lead to reveal what I hope will touch each member here, especially us men.
This will be a five part series
To start correctly, I must go to the beginning, starting from Genesis 1:27-28
27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth."
In my humble opinion, when it is said that God created male and female in His image, it means that we could have the ability to understand that as His creation, we are to love like him, and do all things as He did. Meaning, to keep the inner folds of our souls pure as He did upon creating us; which is having the ability to love unconditionally, thus providing a love that is about the blossoming effect of beauty. Not sinfulness, such as treating a woman as if they are useful tools for us men to act like childish fools who know not what to do, when having the ability to enjoy the gentleness of the one, who like Him, in many ways loved us before even seeing us, although God saw us long before there was us.
When God used us men to bring forth woman, Again I say in my humble opinion, He did so by way of our rib Genesis 2:22. Because He wanted us to understand that we are to have a relationship with one another that is far greater than anything else on this side of heaven, due to the fact that it will take both man and woman to balance the dominion that has been given to us. She being a natural nurturer, which is why we as men have a tendency to go to our women, when we need a refill of encouragement, love and other positive attributes that no other can give us and as a man. I had to come to the understanding of the importance of a woman's strength that has allowed me to see such beauty that has nothing to do with pink and pony tails, but of God Himself, Who instilled in them the gift of being able to sustains their inner glow, while having to fight for the respect that each rightfully earned from the beginning of time. Such as: "Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth."
He gave us dominion over all things, not just us men, but both of us. Because He knew that it would take the both of us to enjoy having dominion over all things, and we as men can be the warriors we were made to be, and she having the responsibility of being a nurturers. If anyone thinks that her being a nurturer is a sign of weakness, think again. Please! I beg of you to think again., which is not just for our children, but us as men, who like my self get spent and need the loving of a woman's wisdom, the gentle touch of her hand, the look that only a woman's eyes can reveal, that gives me the sense of empowerment that is so needed at times to accomplish my mission, whatever it may be at the appointed time.
I remember two incidences that changed my world forever:
1. Was after my stepfather had beat on my mom for no reason other than insecurity. She came to us children, especially us boys and said " when you get old enough to have a woman in your life, please make sure that you love her right and never need to fight that requires your hands and your mouth can be even more painful, so watch what you say, Now this woman was hurting from head to toe, yet had enough strength, mustered from her love for her children to guide us even at that moment.
2. We didn't have many clothes to wear, but what we did have, mom kept clean at all times and made sure that her boys shirts were tucked in our pants and under wears to give us that crisp look. And one day, mom was tucking in mine and having (giving birth) my brother Jerioid at the same time. but due to her love she was trying to get me out of the house before having him, so that I would not become alarmed by all that was being seen. That didn't work, and she fell back in pain, yet protected my brother in every way possible, urging me to go next door and get our neighbor, which I did, while being scared as can be. When I returned with our next door neighbor, my brother was born and on mom's bosom, while she laid spent on the floor.
Mack Reid our next door neighbor, cut the umbilical cords, and helped mom in bed, who looked at me and said " boy go get that education, and I'll have dinner ready for you, when you get home". Which she did and the house was completely clean as usual.
The reason for sharing this, is because those incidences, are so small in comparison to the many things that our woman have done to contribute to our sense of being. Although to me, mom will always be a hero, who just wanted to make sure I look good, while going to get an education, and having my brother at the same time.
Genesis 27 in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
In the image of Him, He created them, so that we can love like Him, have dominion like He does, be fruitful as He did and still does, making on earth as it is in heaven Matthew 6:10
Thank God for our sisters
Thank God for all of us, who have a chance to make it better today, than yesterday and all for His glory always.
